What is Gold Vermeil?
All of the Gold Vermeil items we offer have a 925 Sterling Silver base metal which is then plated with a thick layer of gold. Most gold-plated jewelry is done using a low quality base metal, like copper or brass, and is then coated in a very thin layer of gold. The Gold Vermeil is a minimum of 4 times thicker than a standard gold-plated item! This thicker layer means the plating on your item will last exponentially longer and is much less likely to tarnish.
It's important to note that gold plating is a surface treatment, and over time the gold layer may gradually wear off with regular use. However, with proper care and maintenance, including avoiding contact with harsh chemicals and storing the jewelry properly, gold-plated silver jewelry can retain its beauty for an extended period.
WHAT IS MOONSTONE?
These earrings contain moonstone which will have unique characteristics in the stone, making your stone truly unique! This may include cracks, dark spots, and scratching on the surface of the ring. We have different cuts and shapes of moonstone, however, all of these stones have one thing in common - they contain very unique characteristics and inherent flaws.
Moonstone, in its raw form, can contain large sections of black which often remain in the stone once cut and polished and cannot be removed. Moonstones can also contain cracks known as "centipedes" as they can resemble the bodies of centipedes. The stones can also have scratching on the exterior of the stone and cloudy or foggy sections throughout the stone.
