What is Gold Vermeil?

These Gold Vermeil earrings have a 925 Sterling Silver base metal which is then plated with a thick layer of gold. Most gold-plated jewelry is done using a low quality base metal, like copper or brass, and is then coated in a very thin layer of gold. All of the Gold Vermeil we sell is a minimum of 4 times thicker than a standard gold-plated item! This thicker layer means the plating on your item will last exponentially longer and is much less likely to tarnish.
