NATURAL CRYSTAL OPAL
Size: 1.045ct (9.25x7.19mm)
Origin: Australia
Treatment: Natural
Product Details
A mesmerizing gemstone renowned for its stunning play-of-color and clarity. Typically, crystal opals exhibit a transparent to semi-transparent body, allowing light to pass through and enhance the brilliance of the colors within. This particular opal showcases vibrant hues that can include reds, greens, blues, and yellows, often appearing as shifting patterns or flashes that dance across the surface. The oval cut
accentuates its natural beauty, creating an elegant silhouette that is perfect for various jewelry settings, from rings to pendants.
Australian crystal opals are celebrated for their rich saturation and vivid displays, often featuring a smooth, polished finish that enhances their luster. Each stone is unique, with individual color patterns and characteristics that make it a true statement piece for any jewelry collection. Overall, an oval crystal opal embodies a captivating blend of natural beauty and ethereal charm.
Opal has a Mohs hardness of 5-6.5. The Mohs Scale is a system used to grade the hardness of minerals (resistance to scratching) ranging from 1 to 10. For reference, diamonds are rated 10 on the Mohs scale, as they are the hardest mineral and can only be scratched by other diamonds. Talc has a rating of 1 on the Mohs Scale and can be easily scratched and crushed. Stones that rank seven or higher are best for everyday wear. We recommend setting this stone in a protective setting, such as a bezel setting.
