Crafted with precision and skill, this trillion-cut gem boasts a series of carefully arranged facets that enhance its brilliance and fire, creating a mesmerizing play of light that dances across its surface. The Starbrite cut is an original design from John Dyer, who is an award-winning and world-famous lapidary artist who cuts each stone in a way that maximizes its potential beauty and brilliance. Found amidst the rugged landscapes of Tanzania, the gemstone's name, "Malaya," is derived from a Swahili word meaning "outcast".
What truly sets the Dragon Garnet apart, however, is its character. Each gemstone is unique, bearing distinctive inclusions, patterns, and formations that add depth and personality to its appearance. These natural quirks and imperfections serve as a testament to the gemstone's authenticity and organic origin. These stones also have the natural ability to fluoresce bright red under UV light.
Dragon Garnet has a hardness of 7.5 on the Mohs scale. Garnets are also the birthstone for January and are used to celebrate 2nd anniversaries.

Because orders containing a stone from the Staghead Mine are custom, Extend needs time to review the order information and to confirm that the stone is eligible for coverage which means the option to purchase the plan may not be available at the time of purchase. If you'd like to add the Protection Plan on after your purchase, please email us and we will get the information submitted for Extend to review and will then send you a link to purchase the Protection Plan!
Returns & Exchanges
When purchasing a stone from the Staghead Mine, please note that we do not send the loose stone and all sales are final.
Custom rings are final sale and may not be returned for any portion of a refund or store credit. “Custom” means altering the ring in any way from the listing you purchased it from including altering the width of the ring, changing the materials, adding a custom ring engraving, etc.
