To maintain the integrity of your prongs as long as possible, please review and follow our care guidelines below for women's rings which contain prongs.

Wearing Your Ring:

We get it - you love your ring and want to wear it all the time! Wearing your ring in some situations can cause unwanted damage including loose prongs, impact damage which can cause the stone to chip or break, or even cause scratching of the stone. For this reason, we recommend removing your ring for all manual labor (including sports, going to the gym, gripping items with force such as bicycle handlebars, luggage, etc.) and while doing household chores including washing dishes, laundry, and cleaning. Avoid contact with chemicals (such as chlorine and household bleach), extreme temperatures, perfumes, cosmetics, and other substances which may cause damage to your one-of-a-kind ring.

Because silver and gold are softer metals, the prongs on them can be worn down over time and may need to be re-tipped. Depending on how well cared for the ring is, this re-tipping may need to be done every 3-6 months, or you could go years without needing to re-tip your prongs! There are things you can do to help protect the prongs and ensure they last as long as possible, such as removing the ring for showering, being conscious of not catching the prongs on things such as clothing or hair, and removing the ring while sleeping. The ring rubbing on surfaces, such as sheets or blankets, will cause the prongs to be worn down quicker so the better cared for, the longer the prongs will remain in tact and secure your stone(s).

Please note that there will be a charge to re-tip prongs and we do not cover any stones lost due to the prongs being worn down.

Inspecting Your Ring:

Inspect your ring regularly to ensure nothing looks out of the ordinary with your ring band, the stone, or the prongs securing your stones. As prongs wear down they become rough or sharp, so to catch this early on it's best to inspect and feel them regularly. We recommend getting your ring inspected at least annually, and when you're ready to send yours in for inspection, cleaning, or getting your prongs re-tipped you can email us for instructions on sending that in! If you notice a bent prong, a loose stone, or anything unusual with your ring please remove it immediately in order to avoid any gemstones or small diamond accents from falling out.

Cleaning Your Ring:

Daily wear and tear of your ring can cause dulling of the stones and the metal band. To clean your ring at home, mix one part dish soap and five parts warm water and let your ring soak in the solution for 5 minutes. Take the ring and gently scrub it with a soft bristle brush, rinse it, and dry with a soft cloth and your ring should be sparkling clean again! For rings which contain crushed or set natural materials (crushed turquoise, antler, wood, etc.) we recommend NOT soaking the ring in water. Brushing it with the solution will be fine, just as long as there’s no prolonged exposure to the water.

For polishing, you can always send the ring in to us for a touch up, or any local jeweler will be able to polish your ring to remove surface scratches and get it shining again! Please note that we do not recommend using steam cleaners, since the heat can cause damage to the stone or the inlays of natural materials in the ring.

If you would like to send your ring in for inspections, cleaning, or polishing please email us and put "Attention Repairs" in the subject line.

  • 3 Weeks: Rings set in Titanium, Black Zirconium, Damascus Steel, Tungsten, or Ceramic (*If the ring contains any Silver or Gold the production time is 6 weeks)
  • 6 Weeks: Any ring containing Silver or Gold
  • 8 Weeks: Women's engagement rings & any ring with precious stones
  • 8-10+ Weeks: Fully custom rings always have the possibility of taking longer than 8 weeks from the time the order is placed. Designing a custom commissioned ring takes time and extra care to ensure we can make the ring you have envisioned come to life. This extra time accounts for sourcing custom stones, new materials, CAD design, or the custom casting of an original design and the complexity of that design

Before we start crafting your ring, we want to give you a white glove sizing experience that is unlike anything you will get from another online jeweler because you deserve the confidence in knowing that your ring will fit perfectly! With Staghead Designs, you will receive a box containing stainless steel rings ranging in half sizes from size 4 to 14. These rings are made in a similar width and interior fit as the ring we will be making for you, giving you an accurate method to discover the perfect size for your ring.

Our sizing kit is offered as a FREE option with every ring purchase and can be added to your order by selecting the "Free Ring Sizing Kit" option under the "Ring Size Or Free Ring Sizing Kit" dropdown menu during checkout.

*Please note that choosing our ring sizing kit will delay the production of your ring as we cannot start production until you send us confirmation of your final size.*

CERAMIC AND TUNGSTEN RINGS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IN COMFORT FIT

WIDE RINGS (6mm-10mm wide):
We recommend being sized using standard fit rings (not comfort fit) that are the same width as the ring you would like to order from us. Most of our wide rings default to 8mm wide. Please do not use the thin sizing rings that jewelers have as these are not accurate and an actual ring will be tighter (because of added width) than the sizing rings that are used. While we use our own method to create comfort of wear on our rings, it is different than what is referred to as "comfort fit" at most jewelry stores. For this reason, try on standard fit rings. We provide a beveled-cut edge and will thus be more comfortable to the wearer than a typical standard fit ring. Lastly, do not allow a jeweler to give you a size according to a ‘ring-sizing dowel’, as in our experience they can measure differently and can vary based on how the jeweler was trained to read it. A ring can be off by a half size or more, depending on the dowel.

NARROW RINGS (1mm-5mm wide): We recommend being sized using rings that are the same width as the ring you will be ordering in, if at all possible. If a matching width is not available at the jewelers we have also found that the thin key ring sizers are typically very accurate for rings made in a 1mm-5mm width.

COMFORT FIT RINGS: Request to be sized using comfort fit bands (not standard fit) that are at least 6mm wide. This is only applicable for TUNGSTEN or CERAMIC ring bases.

*Our ceramic stacking bands are 4mm wide and can only be ordered in half size increments from size 4 to 8. All other tungsten and ceramic rings (which are 8mm wide) can only be ordered in half size increments from size 7 to 13 1/2. The widths cannot be changed on any tungsten or ceramic rings.

LOCAL JEWELER

If you would like to be sized locally, we recommend getting sized by two or three reputable jewelers following our guidelines here, depending on if the ring you ordered is a narrow band or a wide band. Please note that our rings are true to international sizing standards, listed below, and our acceptable tolerance on every ring is +/- a tenth of a millimeter.

CARE GUIDELINES

Men’s/Unisex Rings

Because many of our rings have natural materials in them (such as wood, antler, etc.) they do require more care than a traditional solid gold wedding band. We recommend you remove your ring for:

- Any water exposure (including handwashing)
- Using household chemicals, hand sanitizer, or any other harsh chemicals
- Any manual labor
- Anything that might incur impact damage such as hitting your ring on hard surfaces or dropping it

Engagement Rings

- Remove your ring for any manual labor (especially anything that includes gripping items tightly such as furniture, free weights, etc.)
- Remove your ring when using cosmetics, household chemicals, hand sanitizer, or any other harsh chemicals

Returns & Exchanges

We do accept returns and exchanges as long as the ring is returned within 30 days of receiving it, and is returned in perfect condition. Please email us for instructions on sending the ring in!

Custom rings are final sale and may not be returned for any portion of a refund or store credit. “Custom” means altering the ring in any way from the listing you purchased it from including altering the width of the ring, changing the materials, adding a custom ring engraving, etc.

Completed services such as ring engravings, rushes, etc. will not be refunded or credited.

*Staghead Designs reserves the rights to any design created for a client and may post or share that design publicly as well as list the ring on our website for purchase*

Miscellaneous:

Please note that because we use natural materials in our rings (such as wood, antler, etc.) there WILL be variation in how the color and grain of the materials in your ring turn out. No two rings will look the same!

The interior of all eligible rings will be engraved with our antler logo and the metal type of the ring you are purchasing.

If purchasing a stone from the Staghead Mine please note that we do not send the loose stone and all sales are final.
